Beware of Boomerangs

Hmmmm... The US Senate met in November and Lieberman cites the danger of Stuxnet worm as a threat to US assets like; power plants, utilities, electric grid, etc.

Seems like since the worm was floating around the internet, it has been captured and the code manipulated to attack other pieces of hardware. Sort of like plug-n-play: pull-down menu of the hardware you'd like to attack and then plug in the hardware's driver control codes and Bingo - the NorthEast US power grid is cranking out 220 volts instead of 110. Think of the damage a power spike like that would cause (it may not be possible, but maybe something like that.....)

Cyber-terrorism is coming. Not just malware. Not just hackers seeking glory or expressing a point of view about some software company's CEO. But rather a major crippling of US infrastructure by those with political/religious agenda.

The last paragraph of this article should become an action item for the legislature : we need US defense assets deployed to protect US infrastructure posthaste!

In the meantime, not to be nuts about this or other "threats", but everyone please take Jensen's advice and get some basic minimum level of emergency preparedness for your household.
